Goal:
To promote the use of dialogue, non-violence and alternative dispute resolution processes for building peace in Africa.
Strategies:
Organize sensitization meetings, group discussions and workshops on Strategic non-violence, conflict prevention and alternative dispute resolution processes.

Build the capacities of youths and women groups in preventive peace building and conflict resolution in their respective communities

Strengthen the capacities of media practitioners and journalists in preventive peace building and development cooperation.

Prioritize early warning and early response mechanisms for humanitarian and political crises.
Recent Projects
Peace-building project to ensure the socio-economic wellbeing of youths of oil producing communities in Imo State, Nigeria.
With the support of the USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives, Port Harcourt Regional Office, AFRYDEF collaborated with the Committee for Advancement of Justice in carrying out a research study on the Niger Delta Peace Project with a focus on Imo State between September, 2000 and June, 2001 and implemented a 3-day Peace building and Conflict Resolution Training Workshop for the benefits of youths of Ohaji, Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas of Imo State in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria from December 17 – 20, 2000.
